How do I bet on a spread?
The Spread is the number of points by which a favorite is expected to win. It is also referred to as the Run Line in Baseball and Puck Line in Hockey.
Betting on a Spread either pre-game or live is a very popular bet type.
When betting on a favorite, you will win if the favored team "covers" the spread, meaning they win by a greater number of points than the spread has specified. If you bet on an underdog, you will win if the underdog team loses by fewer than the spread (or wins the game altogether).
Follow these steps to place a Spread bet and get in on the action:
1. Choose your selection.
2. Place your selection into the Bet Slip.
3. Finally, set your "Stake" (the amount of your wager) and click the green "Place Bets" button.
4. Enjoy the game!
Example: [Football] Buffalo Bills @ New York Giants. The score is 0-0 and the Giants have a +2 Spread. If the Giants win the game, or win with the spread taken into account. Giants losing the game by 1 point would still be a winning spread bet. Giants losing by 2 would result in a push (stake returned). Giants losing by 3 or more would be a losing bet.
